The Waltonian - May Newsletter
Hello!
This newsletter is mostly just a reminder to vote for the school budget tomorrow.
School Budget Vote
Don't forget to vote yes on the school budget and library budget on Tuesday, March 18th, between 12:00pm and 9:00pm at the school bus garage.
To be qualified to vote in the annual school district election you must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident within the school district for a period of 30 days prior to the election. However, you do not need to be a registered voter or own property in order to vote. The district may require proof of residency, such as a driver's license, voter registration card, or utility bill.
For additional information regarding the budget, check out the web page at https://www.waltoncsd.org/budget.aspx. You were also likely mailed a pamphlet about the proposed budget.
Other Thoughts
Now that I'm fully vaccinated I feel like I've had a weight lifted off my shoulders. If you're still looking to schedule a vaccination, I recommend this vaccine search tool.
If you're looking to get in shape this summer, sports are a fun way to do so. Here are some local Facebook groups for soccer, volleyball, and hockey. Please leave a comment if you're part of another local sports group that is welcoming to new players.
I've heard the Village of Walton Pool is in desperate need of additional lifeguards for this summer. If you know anyone who is a certified lifeguard and looking for summer work, please encourage them to reach out to the village.
I’ve appreciated Walton Mayor Ed Snow’s weekly video updates. Check them out!
