The Waltonian - February Newsletter
Hello Waltonians!
I haven’t published a newsletter here since August, so thank you for your patience! I’ve set myself a goal of a newsletter at the start of each month for the rest of the year, and perhaps some special editions along the way.
Suggested February Activities
Outdoor activity - When’s the last time you explored Bear Spring Mountain? A few weeks ago I went hiking up there with my family and found some beautiful trails I’d never known about before. There are a bunch of trails suitable for for hiking/snowshoeing and others that are great for cross country skiing. For hiking I’d suggest driving a few miles past the campground at Launt Pond and picking any trail. (Bundle up and don’t forget it’s always a good idea to let someone know where you’re going, just to be safe.)
Try a new recipe - This month’s recipe is my mom’s sugar cookie recipe. It makes quite a few cookies so consider taking some to a friend or neighbor! Also, this is a fun and easy recipe to make with kids.
A good deed - I am personally matching up to $500 of cash donations to the Walton Food Pantry this month. If you’re able to, would you consider making a donation? You can donate through this form for the The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and specify the Walton Food Pantry in the ‘Adopt-a-Program’ section at the bottom of the donation form. If you give, reply to this newsletter with a receipt and I’ll match your donation. Thanks so much!
