March Events In Walton

This month’s newsletter for The Waltonian is mostly about what events are happening in Walton this month. Other than that I have just two things to add:

1. Coronavirus - Please don’t panic and please don’t hoard, but take precautions as you are able. And take extra care when washing your hands. Also, with presidential and congressional elections approaching, please consider candidates who will support Medicare for All and anti-poverty initiatives (and will fight against corruption; we need capable experts leading organizations like the CDC and nepotism contributes to the reverse).

2. Plans for this newsletter - I want to expand on the writing I’m doing for this newsletter. Currently I’m working on a summary of technological innovations and trends from a rural perspective so if you have any relevant input or questions about things like broadband access, autonomous vehicles and transport accessibility for the elderly, etc., I’d love to hear them. My sister, Beth, is also working on a piece summarizing the lessons she’s read on community-building from The Little Book of Lykke. If you have an essay you’d like to contribute, please reach out. I’m also interested in collaborating in other projects related to this newsletter or the Walton area in general so if you’re working on something or have an idea, just respond to this email and I’ll be in touch.
